The iPhone Duo goes on sale on Friday 23 October 2026 in the US, the UK and more than 70 other countries and regions. If you did not land a pre-order, here is a realistic plan for getting one on launch day or soon after, at Apple's price.
The week before
1. Decide your configuration, and your fallback. There are four capacities (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB) and two colours (Star White, Night Sky). Choose your first choice, then decide what you would accept instead. Flexibility is the biggest advantage you can give yourself. See colours and storage.
2. Get your Apple Account ready. Sign in on apple.com and in the Apple Store app. Save your payment method and billing address. If you plan to trade in, check your trade-in value now.
3. Check eSIM. The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only. Make sure your carrier supports eSIM and that you know how to transfer your number.
4. Choose your stores. Pick one to three Apple Stores you could reach on launch day. Note their opening hours.
5. Set up alerts. iPhone Duo Finder emails you as soon as your chosen store shows pickup stock: £5 for any configuration, or £10 for your exact one. Add our sending address to your contacts and turn on mail notifications.
Launch morning
Apple Stores receive stock every day, including launch day morning. Pickup availability can appear early.
- Check pickup as soon as you are up. Go to the iPhone Duo page, choose pickup and look at your stores.
- Act immediately when you see availability. Units can be reserved within minutes. Complete checkout first, then think about cases and accessories.
- If you are near a store, consider going. Walk-in stock varies and queues are common on launch day, so a confirmed pickup reservation is safer.
If launch day does not work out
Do not be disheartened. Launch day is the start, not the end.
- Keep checking pickup over the following days. Stores keep receiving deliveries.
- Widen your options: another store, the other colour, or the next storage size up or down.
- Check carriers and authorised resellers, who have their own allocations.
- Avoid scalpers. Resale prices tend to drop as supply improves. Our eBay guide covers the scams to avoid.
Don't wait until January, and don't pay $5000. Patience over a few days usually beats paying a huge premium.
A note on guarantees
Nobody can guarantee you an iPhone Duo on launch day, including us. Our £5 or £10 fee pays for the alert service, which tells you as soon as your store shows stock. You still reserve and buy directly from Apple. iPhone Duo Finder is independent and not affiliated with Apple Inc.
